A shipper’s guide to Star Wars: The Last Jedi
FinnRey or FinnRose?
Oh FinnRey shippers. We’re so sorry. Rian Johnson gave these two very little screen time in The Last Jedi and it seems Finn’s love life has been set on a completely new path following what looks like a life-changing kiss in a cockpit.
If he was going to kiss someone in a cockpit, there are at least two other master pilots we know that are queuing up.
But Finn’s head has definitely been turned by newcomer Rose Tico, who, like Rey, believed in him and helped him to become the hero he thought he couldn’t live up to. She also saved his life multiple times, through ingenuity and courage. All aboard the SS FinnRose!
FinnRey fans still get the perfect snuggly reunion hug between their pairing, but it is Rose’s side he returns to in the end.
It may have complicated matters but that isn’t to say that FinnRose isn’t a worthy ship. Both Rose and Finn are both unbearably cute and you could say, like Reylo, that they are two sides of the same coin. In fact, they are what Reylo could be if the relationship was super healthy and constructive.
We reckon “That’s how we’re going to win, by saving what we love. Not destroying what we hate.” is the most romantic line in cinema since “I’ll never let go, Jack”.
But whether we rate it or not, there’s no denying that their relationship has the power to destroy any hopes fans had for something more between Finn and his BFF Rey.
We’re hoping this isn’t leading to a love triangle.
