J.J. Abrams awakened more than the Force when he brought back Star Wars to the screen in 2015, but how did The Last Jedi change the ships we know and love?

With a host of new Star Wars characters joining the franchise, a host of new relationships likewise emerged and millions of fans everywhere chose the ones that mattered most to them.

Or maybe the ships chose us. Either way, the Star Wars fandom, though still whole, divided into factions based on who they think loves each other the most. Whether it’s Rey and Kylo Ren, Poe and Finn or even a more obscure pairing like Luke and Poe, we all found ourselves in full throttle shipping mode.

Now that The Last Jedi has been released and some ships have been rendered more canon than others, we thought we’d do a little rundown of where each pairing stands going into Episode IX and the ongoing release of more canon novels and other materials.

Worry not if your ship isn’t one of the lucky ones. We know nothing will stop you shipping the pairing you love, even if it’s a dead-in-the-water rarepair. Hey, even the movie knows that hope’s important, and besides, that’s not how shipping works!

Or the Force, really.
