It’s a good time to be a fan of the British Royal Family, with new merchandise incoming as well as a new photo of Prince William and Duchess Kate.
Monday morning, Kensington Palace released Prince William and Duchess Kate’s holiday card with their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The family color coordinated in different shades of light blue.
In the caption of the photo on Instagram, @kensingtonroyal posted that the photo had been taken by @chrisjacksongetty. It was also included that the Royal Highnesses announced Monday morning that Princess Charlotte would begin attending Willocks Nursery School in London in January.
And later, in the afternoon, Entertainment Weekly published an article announcing that the Royal Family will be turned into Funko dolls.
The Funko Pop!s, which are fun and perfect for desktop company, are not the first dolls that have been created in likeness of members of the British Royal Family. In 2012, for the first anniversary of Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, Mattel put out special edition dolls of the two on their wedding day at Westminster Abbey. The set can now be found on Amazon.
The POP! dolls, which are meant to be “fun characterizations” of the Royal Family, have not been approved or endorsed by the Royal Family. The collection will include the most famous royals such as Queen Elizabeth II; Charles, Prince of Wales; the late Diana, Princess of Wales; Prince Harry; Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge.
Princess Diana will be featured in six different outfits in the collection and the Queen will be paired with one of her very loved corgis in a pink ensemble.
Incoming royal family member Meghan Markle was not included in the set. Perhaps variations will be made after her nuptials with Prince Harry take place in May of 2018.
The dolls will be available starting in February 2018.
Next: Lord of the Rings wine incoming
With the posting of their holiday photo, the announcement of Charlotte’s attending nursery school and the upcoming release of the Funko dolls, it was a big day in news for the British Royal Family.
