Is Taylor Swift about to add an Oscar to her collection of awards?

While winning awards is nothing new for Swift, who has continuously added to her accolades since releasing her first studio album in 2016, winning an Oscar would be quite exciting for Swift, who hasn’t yet been nominated for any such thing.

What Taylor Swift song is eligible for an Oscar?

According to a report by the Daily Mail on December 19, Swift’s collaboration with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” is eligible for the Best Original Song Award at the 2018 Oscars.

As many know, Swift has been close to Malik in recent years due to her friendship with his girlfriend, model Gigi Hadid.

As the outlet revealed, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences narrowed the selection of songs from this past year down to just 70 songs to be considered for a nomination in the Best Original Song category.

Who could Taylor Swift be potentially up against?

In addition to Swift and Malik’s “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” which was featured in Fifty Shades Darker, Mariah Carey’s “The Star” from The Star, Nick Jonas’ “Home” from Ferdinand, and Mary J. Blie’s “Mighty River” from Mudbound are in the running for the Best Original Song Award, as is the late Chris Cornell, who’s “The Promise” from the film of the same name is eligible for a nomination.
