Taylor Swift was reportedly miserable during one of her past relationships.

During a new interview, Swift’s longtime friend Toddrick Hall spoke out about how happy she is these days, as her relationship with Joe Alwyn continues, and revealed that she wasn’t nearly as joyful in 2016.

Taylor Swift is the ‘happiest’ she’s ever been

“I think she’s the happiest I’ve ever seen her,” Hall said during an appearance on The Kid Kraddick Morning Show on December 14, via Us Weekly magazine.

Swift began dating Alwyn earlier this year but was first seen spending time with the actor at the end of last year in New York City. As fans will recall, rumors of a romance between the couple began this past spring and in May, they were caught boarding Swift’s private jet together.

Who was Taylor Swift miserable with in 2016?

Although Hall didn’t name any names when it came to his claims against the Swift ex, he revealed that she was dating someone in 2016 that didn’t do a thing for her happiness. As he explained, anytime he would bring this person up, Swift would immediately hunch over and appear downcast.

While Hall didn’t reveal who he was referring to, he revealed he had confronted Swift about how this person was affecting her and even sent her a photo of herself as Quasimodo that he edited to showcase how she transformed into a depressed character at the thought of him

Swift dated Calvin Harris in early 2016 and Tom Hiddleston months later.
