Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s John Boyega wants to be on Grey’s Anatomy

Hey, Shonda Rhimes, guess what? Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s John Boyega wants to be on Grey’s Anatomy! How cool would that be?
It’s Star Wars week, which means that The Last Jedi opens in theaters this Friday and that you should stay as far away from social media as possible to avoid spoilers.
While waiting for your chance to watch the film, you may need to get your Star Wars fix somewhere else, and cast interviews seem like the safest way to go. Of course, you can always re-watch the films or read some of the companion novels, like Canto Bight. But cast interviews happen to be one of my favorite pastimes, because the Star Wars cast is so charming. Plus, I appreciate the brief opportunities to get into the head space of the people who bring my favorite characters to life.
A majority of my focus lies with Daisy Ridley, while I also try to give Adam Driver a break for portraying such a divisive character. However, this time, I’m here to shine some light on the always wonderful John Boyega and his admiration for a show that is near and dear to my heart as well: Grey’s Anatomy.
While answering the “Web’s Most Searched Questions” for WIRED, somebody apparently searched, “was finn star wars grey’s anatomy.” Kelly Marie Tran interpreted this as someone asking whether Boyega was ever on the show, which has had plenty of awesome guest stars over the past 14 seasons.
Though Boyega hasn’t appeared on the series yet, he seemed open to the idea by saying, “I like Grey’s Anatomy, though, so maybe I should just say yes.”
Then, Tran sweetly added, “Hey, Shonda…”

Also, I love his outfit from the press tour, because he looks like a Power Ranger. But, yes, hey, Shonda indeed.
Of course, I’m trying to figure out who on Grey’s Anatomy someone could’ve mistook him for to even ask that question, but I’m coming up with blanks. Either way, I’m all for seeing Boyega hit the small screen as a patient who visits Grey Sloan with a serious case of dehydration after walking across the desert planet of Jakku.
