Looking for a last minute book for the young reader in your life? Look no further! Here are 10 perfect choices!

So, you’ve got a kid that loves to read, or who you want to love to read. You’ve hit the kid’s section at your local bookstore, but there’s so much there! Here are 10 recommendations for the young reader in your life, from board books to middle grade!

Noah the Narwhal by Judith Klausner

Here’s the Goodreads summary:

"Noah the Narwhal has good days, when he is productive and social, and pain days, when he needs to rest. His friends and family can find it difficult to handle the unpredictability. Can they come to see that having him in their lives is absolutely worth it?"

I got to read an advanced copy of this book, and it stole my heart more than a little bit. This was my pick for a book for my friend’s new baby, though it’s probably a little old for him, given that he’s less than a month old now. He’ll love it once he’s old enough, I’m sure, because I certainly did.

I think this book teaches a beautiful, important lesson about being thoughtful towards other people. I think it helps to teach kids to remember that just because you’re having a good brain day, it doesn’t mean someone else is. This is great for families that have invisibly chronically ill or mentally ill members, or those that just want their kids to be decent about these kinds of things. It rarely hurts to give someone else the benefit of the doubt.

You can pick up a copy for the young reader in your life on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
