Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez wouldn’t be friends if it weren’t for the Jonas brothers.
According to a new interview, Gomez met Swift because they were both dating one of the Jonas brothers at the exact same time. As fans know, Gomez and Swift became fast friends and have remained close in the years since they first met.

“We actually dated the Jonas brothers together! It was hysterical,” Gomez said during an interview with Britain’s KISS FM, via a report by Us Weekly magazine on December 7.
As fans may recall, Gomez dated Nick Jonas in 2008, prior to her years-long romance with Justin Bieber, who she is currently dating, and Swift was linked to Joe Jonas that same year. However, while Gomez’s romance with Nick Jonas reportedly ended civilly, Joe Jonas was accused of dumping the 27-year-old “Look What You Made Me Do” singer during a 27-second phone call. As Us Weekly magazine revealed to readers, Swift wrote her song “Forever and Always” about Joe Jonas.
“It was amazing, because was the girl with the big curly hair and all the bracelets and the cowboy boots. And I was definitely up-and-coming, and we just clicked,” Gomez said.
Gomez went on to reveal that Swift was the best thing she got out of her romance with Nick Jonas but added that she and the singer are friends at this point in time. She also said that they were quite young when their romance began.
