The Palm Beach Post is teaming up with Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League for a 12 Dogs of Christmas series. And can you think of anything cuter?

Forget partridges in pear trees. Forget turtle doves. And definitely forget those gold rings. On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me … the cutest dog in the world! That’s what the Palm Beach Post is hoping people will say after their “12 Dogs of Christmas” series. And these pups will just melt your heart.

The Palm Beach Post is featuring an adoptable pup from Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League each day from Dec. 1 to Dec. 12. They go live on the Post‘s Facebook page to show off each new dog every weekday. The pups range from puppies to older dogs and are a variety of different breeds and sizes, so you know you’ll find the right dog for you. And wouldn’t it just be a merry Christmas if they all found their forever homes by Dec. 25?

Today’s dog is Brent! Brent is a “strong, big boy,” who loves food and catching treats. He’s an 89-pound four-year-old mixed breed pup with a brindle coat and a white stripe on his nose. He prefers not to be in a home with other dogs. “He prefers having his human all to himself,” The Palm Beach Post wrote.

This season we’re celebrating the 12 dogs of Christmas! These pups are looking for their fur-ever homes and can be found at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. For day six, we would like you to meet Brent: http://pbpo.st/2BELmFF

Besides Brent, The Palm Beach Post has featured Wiley, Cupid, Vinny and Gino, Charming and Cooper.

If you want to adopt any of these adorable dogs, you can call Peggy Adams at 561-472-8861 or visit at 3100/3200 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach.

While it would be amazing to give these dogs their first real Christmas in their forever homes, the Palm Beach Post warns potential adopters that dogs aren’t presents. They’re living beings that have to be cared for and become a part of the family.

And they have a point. So many people get their kids dogs for Christmas without realizing the commitment having a pet for years is. While it’s adorable to see your kid’s face light up at getting a new puppy, you have to know what you’re signing yourself up for. There are costs to think about and dogs take up your time, energy, and attention. There’s nothing more heartbreaking for the dog or the people than returning a dog because you weren’t ready.

If you are ready to take that next step and bring a furry friend into your life, though, then adopting one of the 12 Dogs of Christmas would definitely make for a holly jolly holiday. You know these dogs would love to spend Christmas with their new forever families.
