Molly Weasley got to ride the Hogwarts Express…or Dame Julie Walters did

We all love Molly Weasley but we never saw her ride the Hogwarts Express. And now Julie Walters got to do it and we fans are so happy!

Julie Walters did it, she got Molly Weasley on the Hogwarts Express. Meaning she brought herself onto the train used for the exterior shots but still. The newly crowned Dame Julie Walters was riding the Jacobite for a four part documentary series and obviously fans were excited.

While we knew that Molly had attended Hogwarts, we never actually saw her on the train. Just at platform 9 3/4 and then at the school during the Battle of Hogwarts. So why is seeing her aboard this beloved train so special? Because it helps us fans think back to Molly as a student.

Obviously we don’t see all our favorites as children. So seeing them do these little things that our favorites get to do every year makes us think about what they were like when they attended Hogwarts.

Were Molly and Arthur on the train together? Did they eat in the Great Hall next to each other? Or was she a reader and alone? Well, we don’t know any of that but it is nice to think about. It takes Molly for the motherly figure in everyone’s life to a full-fledged character in our minds.

She isn’t just the mother of the Weasleys. She’s a woman who went through her entire life before we met her and she’s extremely interesting then. So what was she like as a kid? It’d be wonderful to know but seeing Julie Walters on the Hogwarts Express is enough to fuel our Harry Potter loving hearts for quite sometime.

Next: Julie Walters is receiving Damehood honor from The Queen!

We’re happy for Julie. Finally, Molly Weasley took the Hogwarts Express. Probably to yell at Ron but still.
