Episode 6: The End of the Siberian

Episode 6 actually gives us the name of the Siberian — as we mentioned earlier, it’s actually Vladimir. Not that he actually says it. Oh, no. A soldier reads his license. Anyway, he arrives at Fort James, still looking for Declan, even though there’s no bounty anymore. Presumably this is just a pride thing at this point.

Anyway, so Vladmir finds Declan, and they end up having a completely mind-boggling fight that ends with Declan biting a piece of Vladimir’s nose out (and for a second, it almost looks like he actually bites the entire nose off), then slamming his face into the fancy spiked shoulder guard that Vladimir just used to subdue him!

But it also involves a quick detour into the ale house, where the two of them play a quick game of Ring around the Rosie around a post, except instead of chanting and falling down, they’re trying to stab each other.

Of course, just after getting the ever-living daylights knocked out of him, as seen in the clip above, Declan’s immediately confronted with Chesterfield and several guns.

Honorable mentions: Malcolm Brown doesn’t take kindly to hearing that Josephette will be his brother’s partner. Additionally, the ending scene comes with another cliffhanger: Lord Benton getting rowed away with Grace, while Chesterfield and Declan look on from shore.

And yet, somehow, there’s still plenty of ability to binge-watch season 2 of Frontier — if only because you’re never sure what’s going to come next, and it’s so easy for this show to top itself.
