Star Wars: The Last Jedi: What is the first full line?

Judging by what we know of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, what could the first full line of the entire movie be, and who will say it?

This might be something that you don’t want to know, if you’re trying to keep yourself untainted by Star Wars plot points in advance. Per Rian Johnson himself (and via Star Wars News Net), Star Wars: The Last Jedi will open with the word we’re.

Now, he didn’t provide much in the way of context as to who utters the word and those that presumably come after it, but there are a few things that we can surmise, either based on tradition or just what we’ve already heard.

First, this sounds like the word that is first spoken — not the first words of the opening crawl we expect to see. So, who will we see first when the camera pans down to focus on a planet or a ship? Express speculates that we are not actually going to see Rey first, based on the usage of the word we’re, although it actually then offers a way for Rey to say the words.

But we have another line that she could say to satisfy the requirement that it starts with someone saying we’re. Something to the effect of “We’re in trouble. The Resistance is in trouble. Leia is in trouble.” There’s also an opening for her to say something like “We’re here for you.” As Express also notes, after all, she is not actually alone when she arrives on Ahch-To.

In fact, she could even say “We’re looking for Luke Skywalker.” Even though she holds the lightsaber out to him at the end of The Force Awakens, before the opening of The Last Jedi, and even though it seems pretty obvious that she knows who he is, it would be a reminder that they’re looking for the man who helped make Han Solo’s line, “It’s true, all of it,” actually true.

What do you think it could be? Do you subscribe to Express’ other idea that it’s possible the movie will open on the Resistance or even the First Order? The latter would follow the tradition of the original trilogy, which opened with shots of Imperial ships.
