Selena Gomez underwent a kidney transplant earlier this year after her longtime friend, actress Francia Raisa, donated her kidney to the singer.

As fans will likely recall, Gomez announced the news of her surgery to her fans and followers on Instagram in September and quickly thanked her friend for saving her life. Months later, Gomez is speaking of the surgery again, revealing that her surgery scar across her torso took some getting used to.

Selena Gomez’s scar was hard to deal with — at first

“It was really hard in the beginning,” Gomez revealed, according to a report from Us Weekly magazine on November 30.

According to Gomez, she can now look at her body and know that her torso scar represents life. As she explained, she could easily undergo procedures in order to get rid of the scar but at this point in time, she’s okay with it. After all, if her kidney transplant hadn’t happened, she may not be here to speak of her scar in the first place.

While Swift recently returned to the spotlight with the release of Reputation, she has yet to publicly be seen with her longtime friend. Although she did give her a shoutout after the release of her new music, Swift and Gomez have reportedly been keeping their distance from one another as they focus on their individual careers and their romances.

Gomez is currently dating Justin Bieber while Swift is involved in a romance with Joe Alwyn.
