Loki and the Tesseract

No, it’s not a Marvel knock-off of “Bennie and the Jets.” The first thing out of my mouth after seeing Thor: Ragnarok was: “Loki totally took the Tesseract from Odin’s vault.”

Why wouldn’t he? He went to so much effort in The Avengers to keep it away from them and was indirectly working for Thanos (or was it more direct than we know?). That Infinity Stone gave him his first true feeling of power. As good as Loki can sometimes be, he certainly always has his own agenda.

The shot itself comes as less of a surprise and more of an “I knew it!” moment when we see Loki holding out the Tesseract, offering it up to someone.

That someone is probably Thanos. I have a feeling that Loki won’t be in Infinity War for incredibly long and this moment more than likely takes place in the first section of the film. We know it’s going to be a heist-like movie with Thanos hunting down the Infinity Stones. We clearly see him with two already in this trailer alone.

With Loki having worked for Thanos before, he’s more than likely just offering up what he once promised. Which, you know, doesn’t bode well for the rest of the Avengers.
