Nymphadora Tonks deserved so much more than she got

Nymphadora Tonks did not deserve the life she was handed in the Harry Potter series and we are defending her. She deserved the world and more.

Much like Sirius Black, Nymphadora Tonks was a member of the Black family that was less than welcomed. And much like Sirius Black, Tonks deserved a better run than she got in the series. Look, I get it. People have to die. But why couldn’t Tonks have had a life where she got to raise Teddy and be happy with Remus?

While the Harry Potter series is known for teaching many of us that not everyone gets their happy endings, sometimes it was a little too much. It seemed that everyone, even including Harry as seen in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, struggled. Which, fine. We all struggle through life so it is an accurate portrayal.

But couldn’t just one couple have a happy ending? One that didn’t lead to their child wanting to bring back Cedric Diggory from the dead and disrupting everything? Tonks and Lupin were barely married, had a child together, and had a whole life to plan out. But then they went and died in the Battle of Hogwarts and we never got to see them grow old together.

Sure it was nice that they died together but let’s not forget that they died. Again, I get it. Sometimes characters have to die. But it seemed like, in the end, J.K Rowling was having a free for all and killing whoever she wanted just to hurt us.

Next: Remus Lupin and Tonks should have gotten a lot more

So did Tonk deserve better than she got? Absolutely. She was amazing, strong, and one of the best characters in the series. She didn’t deserve to die and she didn’t deserve to not have the chance to see her son grow up.
