If Harry Potter had just one parent that survived, what would his life be like? We’re taking a look at what it would be like if James Potter didn’t die.
James Potter died saying Lily and Harry Potter. But what if he hadn’t died? What if he survived and Harry got to have at least one parent? If James Potter survived, what would happen to the childhood Harry had? Personally, I think it could one of two ways.
James would either be determined to avenge Lily’s death and Harry would be raised by Sirius and Lupin alongside his father. Or James would become depressed and be an absent father. Personally I’d rather it be the three of them raising Harry on their own so I’m going to focus on that one.
Just how fun would that be? Whenever James got a tip on who betrayed him and Lily, Sirius would watch over Harry and Lupin would come over whenever the moon wasn’t full. They’d all take turns baby sitting Harry and it’d be a real Three Men and a Baby situation.
While it would be all fun and games at times, there would be some more depressing issues to work through, especially since James Potter would have lost the love of his life. Maybe there’d even be a little battle between him and Severus Snape!
Still, whatever would happen would be better than what actually happened with Harry. He wouldn’t’ have to go to the Dursley’s and be treated like he wasn’t worth anything for the majority of his life. He’d at least have one parent who loved and cared about him and that’s all we could hope for.
