9. Patty Jenkins
This year really put Patty Jenkins on the map. She should have been there for her work on the film Monster, but we’ll pretend that the world just suddenly forgot that masterpiece was created. But this year, she brought to live Diana Prince and showed us all that we can be the hero.
If it wasn’t enough that she made a pretty flawless origin story, Patty Jenkins continues to spread Wonder Woman’s message on social media. She’s constantly sharing fans’ stories and reaching out to those who were touched by her film. And she wants to include women in everything that she does.
Which honestly is great! If you’ve never heard Patty speak, I highly suggest trying to. When it is so easy to brush off weird fan questions, Patty Jenkins has a way of twisting her answers to make you feel like you are the only person she wants to talk to. Which is maybe why she’s such a good director.
She also has a way of taking criticism and applying it to her work in a positive way. And it is why we love Patty so much. She doesn’t put herself above anyone else and she wants us all to feel like the Wonder Women we are.
