The Star Wars Christmas album, Christmas in the Stars, is real, and, frankly, it doesn’t get enough love. Time to listen to every single great track.
The early days of Star Wars were pretty strange, to be completely honest. There were a lot of pieces of merchandise and tie-ins released, including the maligned Star Wars Holiday Special. But, probably because it’s not as abjectly terrible and doesn’t try and make Life Day a thing, Christmas in the Stars does not get quite as much hate.
In fact, it doesn’t seem like a lot of fans necessarily know that this exists!
But it does. You can, in fact, even still find copies of it on Amazon, although reviews seem to suggest the newest version has some issues with sound. Some of those reviews even suggest that these songs aren’t very good!
Well, okay. They’re not classics. But this writer happens to have a special place in her heart for the terribly ’80s tracks that comprise Christmas in the Stars, and she is here to spread the joy of listening to these songs.
Hey, we put up with “We Are the World,” “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” and more every year on holiday radio stations. What’s nine more maybe-not-quite-great-but-still-kind-of-good tracks to add to the rotation?
