Axl and Sue Heck — The Middle

Sibling love can be the absolute sweetest gift, or it can be the most infuriating. When you have a brother like Axl Heck, it seems like the latter will consistently and reliably be the case. There’s  nothing too malicious or sinister about this sibling relationship, and you won’t catch anybody comparing these two to the Lannisters in King’s Landing.

But these two have their own troubles, and anybody who’s ever had a big brother knows we all might have to worry about Sue’s self-esteem. The constant bickering between these two could hardly be considered a feud, compared to the others on this list, but it can get intense, nonetheless.

This feud is mostly one-sided, and Axl single-handedly sets about to make Sue’s life miserable. She, on the other hand, is a delightful, albeit forgiving, person, who doesn’t deserve the abuse she suffers at the hand of her terrible brother. He calls her names, sabotages her life at school and at home, and sucks up all the air in whatever room he’s in.

Sue always struggled to fit in, while Axl was popular and handsome. When they started going to the same school, it became particularly hard to watch. The harder Sue tried to live up to Axl’s popularity and reputation, the more it became clear she was never going to. That didn’t stop him from withholding any sort of kindness or understanding for her. He doubled down on their sibling feud, and made her life completely unbearable.
