Eggo Waffles — Stranger Things

Although Eggos aren’t necessarily weird on their own, Eleven’s compulsion to eat them by the handful is. She is first introduced to them when she’s Mike’s secret guest, but one was all it took to make her a believer. Sitting in that sheet fort in Mike’s basement, trying to acclimate to life outside the lab, Eleven tasted those yummy carbs for the first time, and that began her love affair with the breakfast food.

Maybe it’s the convenience of a toaster waffle, or just their buttery goodness, but Eleven loves her some Eggos. They don’t even have to be fully cooked or have any syrup. She’ll scarf them straight out of the box whether she paid for them or not. Stolen waffles are just as delicious as waffles that are bought and paid for. Sometimes El can’t even wait until she’s made it out of the store. She’ll tear that box open and stuff those frozen waffles into her mouth, and she doesn’t even care how cold they are.

Eleven adores Eggos so much, they can be used as a bribe by the folks in her life to incentivize her to do what they want. You know somebody loves a food when they’ll flip vans, burst glass windows, or trek through snow for it. Lord knows I love a good carb, but I think El might love them more.
