Should we be watching Harry Potter over the Thanksgiving break?

When it comes to the holiday season, we always want to watch Harry Potter. But does that connection really work with Thanksgiving?

Look, let’s be honest: we all marathon the Harry Potter series at weird times. But you know when we really can’t justify it? At Thanksgiving. But that doesn’t stop us. I know personally, I always want to watch it when I’m home with my family.

Maybe it is because my mom puts up the Christmas lights early and something about Christmas always makes me think of the series. Another thing that makes no sense since it isn’t exclusively a Christmas movie. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I think we Potter fans just want to rewatch our favorites and we try and make up excuses of why it is the time to do so.

Do we need the excuses? Not at all, just watch the series and enjoy it. That’s all. But still, I think watching it at Thanksgiving is a little strange. (Not meaning I don’t do it but still.)

Why? Well, first of all, we celebrate Thanksgiving as an American holiday of that time we peaced out from Britain. You know, mother of Harry Potter himself? I just think it is a weird time for us to be like “I LOVE THE HARRY POTTER SERIES” when we’re also celebrating us separating ourselves from the country he hails from.

But then again, we Potter fans don’t really care. We just want an excuse to revisit our favorite Boy Who Lived. And that usually comes about when we have an extended vacation time. Mainly around the holidays.
