Katherine Locke

Katherine Locke is a nonbinary author from small town Pennsylvania, where she lives with her “feline overlords” and drinks way too many chai lattes.

Her debut novel, The Girl With the Red Balloon, was published on Sept. 1, 2017 by Albert Whitman Company. The Girl With the Red Balloon features Ellie Baum, who accidentally time travels to 1988 East Berlin where she is caught up with an underground guild who use magic balloons to get people over the Berlin Wall.

“When it becomes clear that someone is using dark magic to change history, Ellie must risk everything—including her only way home—to stop the process,” the synopsis states on Goodreads.

You can find her online at @bibliogato on Twitter and KatherineLockeBooks.com.

Xan West

Xan West is a pen name for Corey Alexander, who is an autistic queer fat Jewish genderqueer writer, community activist and reviewer.

Xan writes queer erotica. Their latest collection, Show Yourself to Me, was hailed as “a book that changes what erotica can and should be.”

Xan creates book recommendation lists and blogs about trans representation in literature, queerness, disability, and writing on their website. They also curate a list of trans and nonbinary reviewers’ reviews of books that feature trans and nonbinary characters that is a must-read if you’re reading these books. It’s regularly updated here and can be a great resource to find well written books, or to keep up with nonbinary and trans reviewers.

You can find out a lot about what Xan has done and will be doing on their Publications tab and you should definitely follow them on Twitter at @tgstonebutch!
