After transitioning to a pop icon and superstar, we haven’t heard much of Taylor Swift on country radio these days but rumor has it that, that’s about to change.

Still hot on the heels from her CMA win for Song of the Year and releasing the best album of 2017, Taylor Swift has decided to give country radio another go. According to The Tennessean, the pop star’s label Big Machine Records has issued her piano-driven track “New Years Day” to country radio.

This will mark her first song to hit country radio since her 2014 hit “Shake It Off,” which peaked at No.58 on the Country Airplay chart. “New Years Day” is a raw, emotional piano-driven track that showcases Swift’s vocals with pure honesty. Earlier this week, the songstress debuted the song on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Even though the songstress is far removed from the genre, she’s still continued to be successful and Nashville and the genre will continue to call her family. This was proven on November 8 during the 51st Annual CMA Awards when she won Song of the Year for her track “Better Man” performed by Little Big Town. Her presence in Nashville is still very much alive and we know that country radio will welcome her back with open arms.
