Taylor Swift proves she is still the biggest pop star in the world with her newest album Reputation.
It appears that Taylor Swift is on track to break yet another record with her sixth studio album reputation. If the album continues to sell at a lightning pace like it has been over the past three days, it will become 2017’s biggest selling album after only one week of being out.
In the first day, the album sold over 700,000 copies in pure sales but the number could be a lot larger once pre-sale numbers are calculated later this week. According to Variety, it is estimated that reputation will sell well over 1.5 million copies by the end of the week. This will top her 2014 album 1989, which hit 1.25 million sales. Whoever says that Swift is over is clearly wrong. She’s back and she’s better than ever.
Her boldness, courage, and sassiness are all paying off in a big way. The new sound that Swift has delivered on the album has brought in new fans and old fans are loving it all the same. But just because her sound has changed doesn’t mean the superstar has. She’s still herself but wasn’t afraid to make a statement and for that, we commend her for.
Reputation is set out to beat Ed Sheeran’s position for best selling album of 2017 with his current album Divide, which sold over 909,000 copies in its first week. This will also be Swift’s fourth album to sell over 1 million in its first week. Speak Now sold 1.05 million, Red 1.21 million, 1989 1.29 million, making her the only act to have four different albums sell over a million albums in its first week, breaking her own record.
Will reputation be the top album of the year? We think so.
Reputation is available everywhere now.
