Remus Lupin and Tonks should have gotten a lot more

We all love Remus Lupin. But he definitely didn’t get the happy ending we wanted him to have. He and Tonks deserved so much more.

Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks deserved more. Yeah, I said it. They did. They didn’t deserve to die and not see their son grow up and they certainly didn’t deserve to be plagued throughout their entire relationship. I know that Lupin is a tortured character. From losing his friends to fighting his disease, he’s not the happiest person in the Harry Potter series.

And that’s fine, you don’t have to be happy. But the fact that he and Tonks started a life together and then had it torn away from them is unfair. And maybe that’s the point. Maybe Rowling wanted to show us that you can’t always have everything and sometimes it gets taken away from you.

But couldn’t she do that with someone who hasn’t suffered the entire series? Maybe someone random had their lives taken and Lupin got to live on. But I just think it’s idiotic that these characters we loved so much and watched suffer then had their lives taken like they meant nothing to the story.

Especially in the movie. We watched as Lupin and Tonks died like it was an afterthought. They didn’t even bring up Teddy and he ends up being Harry’s adoptive son. I just think there are a lot of irresponsible things that happen in the Harry Potter series.

Things that the movies definitely don’t help to fix. When we think we’ve finally gotten something right, there’s something else that happens that makes us question how much Rowling loves the characters she’s creating.

So should there be justice for Lupin and Tonks? Yes, obviously. Everyone loved them and we had our hearts broken when they died. So maybe we can fix that in some fanfiction or something, make us realize that our favorite characters are actually alive and well and living in Montana.
