Millie Bobby Brown is basically Matilda already

Millie Bobby Brown is ready to head to the stage, ideally as Matilda. This would be great because, well, she’s kind of Matilda already.

For those who have already finished binging Stranger Things 2, there’s no doubt that Millie Bobby Brown is a star on the rise — especially after her finale performance. (Really, that became clear after just the first season of the show.) Ideally, she’s got a few more seasons — Brown wants five in total — of playing Eleven, but she’s already thinking ahead. This time, her eyes are on stage acting.

Brown revealed to Variety that her ideal next step would be to take on a musical. More specifically, she’d love to play Matilda on stage. “I like her wittiness,” Brown told Variety. “She’s funny and also just extremely smart, all at the same time.” Sounds like someone we already know, right? Brown’s draw to the character makes total sense because, honestly, she’s kind of a real life Matilda.

Along with Brown’s description, Matilda is generally described as a genius. The same could easily be said of Brown, just based on her approach to interacting with fellow celebs at parties.

While in Chicago for C2E2 this summer, Brown admitted that she uses the bar to her advantage. “When celebrities are drunk, I get their numbers,” confessed Brown. “I got Zac Efron’s.” The method may be a bit sneaky, but there’s no denying she gets results.

Brown has proved time and time again that she has the pipes fit for a musical, and she’s got the light-hearted spirit of Matilda. Even if, for some odd reason, she wasn’t cast as Matilda herself, Brown would thrive in the show’s “Revolting Children” number.

For now, we’ll file Millie Bobby Brown as Matilda under “dream castings.” Hopefully, Broadway will be wise enough to make the call.
