Why couldn’t Hermione Granger have her bushy hair?

In the movies, Hermione Granger ended up having a beautiful blow out. Why couldn’t she have been the bushy haired bookworm we knew and loved?

Emma Watson was too pretty but was there any other reason why we couldn’t have the mousey haired Hermione Granger we know and love? Like look, we all remember how pretty Emma was even in the first two movies. But why did they give up trying to give us the Hermione hair that is so iconic in the books?

If there is one thing that the Harry Potter movies never could get, it was the character’s hair. And Hermione was a big one. She was supposed to have this crazy curly hair and it lasted all of Christopher Columbus and that was about it.

Was the a reason? Or did they just think “Emma Watson is beautiful so let’s forgo a character choice and make her breathtaking”? To me, that kind of diminishes the character of Hermione. Part of the reason all these people love her as the series goes on is because they realize she’s brilliant.

It isn’t so much about her beautiful hair or fashion sense, she enthralls everyone she meets by simply being herself. So for them to then go ahead and make her breathtaking changes the game in a weird way.

We suddenly don’t just see her as Hermione the book worm who is so unbelievably intelligent but rather she’s a beautiful person inside and out. Now, I’m not saying book Hermione was never not beautiful. But the way she is described, she’s teased by her hair and other features but then as years go on, everyone falls in love with Hermione for who she is.

I think that it is discounting her brilliance to change that aspect of her for the movies. If she could have continued to have her bushy hair and eyebrows and still managed to have everyone fall in love with her, it would have sent a better message to the audience.
