Everyone has a crush growing up but Harry Potter and his crushes worked out a little differently than normal. Meaning it was just really weird.
Harry Potter has really bad luck with his crushes. Or more so, just Cho Chang. But still. When did a crush in the Potter series really work out? We’re used to Harry falling in love with someone and it not working out.
But why does it seem like crushes go on and on and then eventually they either end up together or are happy? I don’t know about you guys but I’ve had quite a few crushes in my day and they’ve never really worked out for the better. Not in a bad way, it’s not like I’m miserable and upset.
But I haven’t really had a schoolgirl crush work out in the way Ginny’s did. Let’s examine that for a minute: your brother’s best friend is hot and you love him from the moment you see him. But normally, as you get older, he gets further away and that’s it. But not when it comes to the Harry Potter series.
For Ginny Weasley, if you just dream hard enough, you’ll get the love and relationship you always wanted. I don’t know, maybe that’s why I never really liked Ginny all that much. Good at sports, smart, gets the boy she always wanted. She’s too perfect.
Which isn’t an uncommon problem with Ginny. A lot of Potter fans don’t like that she seemingly has no flaws. Because yeah, of course then Harry would love her. She’s ideal.

Maybe I wanted to see more crushes like Cho and Harry except they don’t go on a date. It’s just a crush from afar and it results in Harry being lonely.
