His past: Harry Potter and the not so great childhood

We know that Harry Potter didn’t have the greatest childhood growing up but looking at it, there are still a lot of questions we have about him.

Look, Harry Potter had it rough. But we have some questions about how ‘rough’ his childhood was. Because sometimes, he seems a little better off than was alluded to. We’re not saying anything was great about it but still.

He knows about these holidays and the way of other kids in the world, yet the Dursleys keep him locked up. Does he read about them in school or hear other kids talking? Whatever it may be, it is a little strange how much Harry does and does not know.

Again, I’m not saying his life was any better than it was. In fact, his childhood sucked. But I almost wish we saw more of it. I wish there was a moment when we got to see Harry as a younger kid and how the Dursleys treated him.

When we met him, he was already ten years old and had gotten used to them. But then again, we don’t really need to see them abusing a child. It’s more to curb our morbid curiosity of the childhood Harry endured until he was finally old enough to move out and be on his own.

But maybe the fact that we just saw the aftermath shows us truly how terrible Petunia and Vernon were to their nephew. He lived under the stairs and had no friends or anyone to turn to. It was pretty terrible.
