The Walking Dead returns this Sunday with a brand new episode but will it be as slow as the season’s premiere? Read on to find out.

If you haven’t caught up on season 8 of The Walking Dead, read no further. First, check out our recap of it from last week. In summary: Rick Grimes and the communities of Alexandria, the Hilltop, and the Kingdom finally agree to band together to take down Negan.

As exciting as that quick recap sounded, the premiere episode came out a lot drier than expected, in hopes that episode 2 will be better. But will it?

Here’s the official synopsis of episode 2, “The Damned:”

"The plan involving Alexandrians, Kingdommers and Hilltoppers unfolds. As Rick continues to fight, he encounters a familiar face."

We can only hope that this time around, it actually unfolds. The first episode teased what’s to come through season eight but that was the case for season seven as well, and we all know how that ended. I, along with many other fans, am desperately waiting for Negan to suffer a cruel and well-deserved fate at the hands of Rick, and I’ve been waiting for one season too long. I’m hoping episode 2 brings the “all out war” we all are hoping for.

Here’s a promo for this next episode:

The Alexandrians, Kingdommers and Hilltoppers clearly have a plan but they’re facing a few setbacks along the way. While Jesus and Morgan are off doing this, I wonder who the familiar face is that Rick will come across. Is it Jadis, the leader of The Scavengers? I would love to see them reunite after what happened last season. Maybe they can makes amends and Jadis can join in the fight against Negan.

Whatever happens, I want less dramatic scene shots and more physical drama and action. I want to see blood, and I want that blood to come from only one man.

Next: Have we gone too far with Stranger Things 2 and its publicity?

The Walking Dead’s “The Damned” airs Sunday, Oct. 29 at 9 p.m. on AMC followed by a new episode of Talking Dead, and you can catch a recap and review of it all right here on Culturess on Monday morning.
