When it comes to speaking their own truths, Harry Potter fans have no problem tell you what’s on their mind. Thanks to J.K Rowling.
J.K Rowling on Twitter is pretty outspoken and we all know why: She’s always believed in the power of what she has to say. So how does that relate back to us as her fans? Well, we tend to be a lot more outspoken than previous generations.
And not for lack of trying either. I truly believe that the Harry Potter series has given us the ability to be more eloquent in our arguments and more willing to express how we’re feeling about a situation. And I definitely contribute that entirely to Rowling and her work.
When we were kids, we read a series that showed Harry, Ron, and Hermione never really stopping themselves from expressing what was bothering them. They didn’t really hide behind their words, they usually said what they meant and that was that.
Often it got them into a bit of trouble but still. So now we, as adults, tend to be the same way, I think. We’re not hiding behind our ideals, we’re sharing them and wanting to try and help those around us by contributing to the conversation.
So while the Harry Potter generation may wish to be a part of a world of magic, we have learned amazing core values from the series that Rowling provided for us. While most of us relate back to the magical aspects of the story, if we look at how we, as a generation, view friendship and creating your own family and using your voice for good, it is very clear that we learned quite the amazing bunch of lessons from Rowling and her work.

So yes, it is about magic. But that’s not what we, as fans of the series, relate back to. We learned so much from Harry and his friends and we love reliving the magic every day.
