With just a few months left in the year, the film is poised to hold its spot as one of the best of 2017. But it’s more than just Jordan Peele’s writing that makes Get Out great. Daniel Kaluuya leads the film’s cast as Chris, a normal guy just trying to meet his girlfriend’s family.
Kaluuya himself described Chris as “that guy that everyone knows, who has been in everyone’s class at school. That good guy from around the area.” And he’s not wrong. His winning personality helps audiences root for him even more.
Kaluuya has been acting for awhile, appearing alongside Emily Blunt in Sicario, but Get Out has cemented his icon status.
He’s set to work with Marvel next, appearing in Black Panther as W’Kabi. His character is described as Black Panther’s best friend and the Border Tribe’s head of security. According to executive producer Nate Moore, “they live on the borders of Wakanda and serve as the first line of defense for the country.”
So, odds are pretty good that fans will see Kaluuya in some incredible action sequences, and we’ll love him even more.
