15. Finn Wittrock — Halloweentown High (2004)

No Halloween is complete without a rewatch of the entire Halloweentown series — or at least 75 percent of it. (I’ll never forgive recasting Kimberly J. Brown in Return to Halloweentown, and I’m not sorry.)

Over the years, Marnie had some pretty solid love interests. There was Luke the troll who, had he not teamed up with Kalabar in the original film, might’ve landed a spot on this list. That’s not to say he didn’t redeem himself in the end though. There’s no denying that he and Marnie Piper had chemistry, but even Kimberly J. Brown has said they were more like best friends.

The real winner for Marnie showed up in Halloweentown High, and his name was Cody. Even after being mistaken for an intruder and spelled by Gwen Piper, Cody was still there for Marnie. He was a huge source of support for her and the Halloweentown exchange students, advocating for the mortals to accept the creatures in the end.

Not only did Cody have a heart of gold, but he was handsome for Disney Channel’s tween-to-teenage audience to boot. The character was played by Finn Wittrock who, to this day, still somehow looks like a dreamboat. Unlike many Disney Channel stars, Wittrock didn’t fall off the map after Halloweentown High.

Fans will recognize him now as Dandy Mott from American Horror Story: Freak Show. He even popped up in La La Land as Greg, Mia’s pre-Gosling boyfriend. He’s set to star alongside Darren Criss in 2018’s American Crime Story: Versace.

So, if a Halloweentown reboot does happen (KJB has already said she’s down for it), Wittrock would be the ideal choice to see again.
