15 top Halloween movie crushes, past and present

5. Thomas Mann — Fun Size (2012)
In most Halloween movies, scare factor is essential. But sometimes, even the biggest horror fans need a reprieve. When that happens, there’s Halloween comedy like Nickelodeon’s Fun Size. It’s a classic “one crazy night” film, with everything happening throughout the night of Halloween.
On the surface, the draw of Fun Size for Nickelodeon’s audience is Aaron Riley, played by Thomas McDonell. But, like most teen movies, the popular rockstar doesn’t end up being the real catch. In this case, the title goes to Roosevelt Leroux, played by Thomas Mann.
With more youthful facial features, Mann has come to be a bit type-cast as the nerdy sidekick. It happened in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters (though it wasn’t a rom-com) and it happened in Barely Lethal, where he starred alongside Hailee Steinfeld.
But, as Mann has proven, being type-cast isn’t always a bad thing. He’s come to excel in the role, especially alongside Victoria Justice (R.I.P. Victorious) in this movie.
His character Roosevelt has a huge heart, and even a bit of a rebellious side. He steals his mom’s car to help Wren (Victoria Justice) find her younger brother, who wandered off during trick-or-treating.
Though his relationship with Wren is a bit predictable, Roosevelt is still easy to root for, combining a sense of innocence with a low-key intensity. Mann didn’t really hit his mainstream breakout until 2015’s Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, but since then he’s worked with some of the greats.
But, as seen in Fun Size, he’s always been pulling on heartstrings.
