People are going all out this year for their dogs’ Halloween costumes! And they’ve got some great ones from The Handmaid’s Tale to Wonder Woman.

We’re less than a week away from Halloween! And Halloween’s not just for the kids anymore. Even the dogs are getting in on the action. Luckily, there’s still time to find that perfect costume for your dog!

According to the National Retail Federation, 16% of those celebrating Halloween will dress up their pets and Americans reportedly paid a whopping $400 million on Halloween costumes for the pets last year. And the costumes really run the gamut from cute store-bought Halloween costumes, to big, intricate, homemade costumes and floats.

And dog owners love to show off their dogs’ new duds. There were reportedly thousands of costumed dogs at this year’s annual Tompkins Square Halloween Dog Parade and at least three times as many people either with their dogs or just coming to check out the adorable pups.

So what should you dress up your dog as for Halloween? National Retail Federation reports that the top Halloween costumes for pets this year are a pumpkin, a hot dog, a dog, lion, or pirate, a bumble bee, a devil, a Batman character, a ghost, a cat, a witch, or a Star Wars character.

Of course, many of the go-to Halloween costumes for both people and their animals are always inspired by pop culture. And with so many great TV shows and movies out there, there are plenty of options to choose from.
