Is Harry Potter technically a Halloween movie?

We often marathon the Harry Potter movies throughout all different seasons of the year but is it really a Halloween movie?

Harry Potter is watched during specific seasons. More specifically, every season. Really we just want to watch it whenever we can. So we watch it in July, in September, at Halloween, at Christmas. Basically whenever the mood takes us.

But now that it is Halloween, the question comes up: is it Harry Potter season? Short answer? No. Because it can basically be applied to any time of the year and it makes sense. Just look at the continual Harry Potter weekends that we have.

So to limit the series to one season isn’t really fair to the books or the movies. We can’t be limited by fall because ‘that’s when we should watch the movies’. And there isn’t really that much Halloween inspired things in the series.

Yes, there are magical aspects and we, as fans, always dress up like the characters for Trick or Treating but that doesn’t mean that we should exclusive view this as a Halloween series. In fact, it shouldn’t even be seen as just a Christmas series either. (Which it often is.)

Honestly, I think that labeling the series as anything specific to a season is kind of stupid. Not because the idea isn’t great but rather because the series spans through years of Harry’s life so he, himself, is going through different seasons.

So basically, you can watch the Harry Potter series whenever you want. There is no specific time when it is more important than any other time. But either way, just go out and watch the movies. They make us happy and that’s what is most important.
