Mr Robot season 3, episode 2 preview: eps3.1_undo.gz

Mr. Robot season 3 continues, as Elliot kicks off his plan to undo the revolution that his fsociety hack brought about.

Mr. Robot season 3 kicked off with an episode that reset many of the key parameters of the series. Mr. Robot is now a more clearly defined alternate personality, with goals and ambition separate from Elliot’s. Angela not only lies to her BFF regularly, she actively takes advantage of his mental illness to further her own ends. And Darlene — the original fsociety crusader — finds herself crippled by panic attacks. And as for Elliot himself? Well, he seems determined to reverse everything he (and fsociety) did.

But can he? That is the question the rest of season 3 will have to answer. (Well, that and also if time travel is real.)

Season 3’s second episode, entitled “eps3.1_undo.gz”, will ostensibly start this process. But what can we expect to see happen?

The official synopsis is — surprise, surprise — extremely vague.

"Elliot is lit by his goal to undo five/nine; Darlene is caught between a rock and a hard place; and Mr. Robot sparks a panic."

The trailer for “eps3.1_undo.gz” may provide a bit more clarity, however.

If that above clip is anything to go by, it looks as though Elliot’s headed to E-Corp. Maybe he’s starting that new corporate job Angela promised to secure for him? (The “undo” command in the episode title seems to imply this is Elliot’s first step toward fixing what he did.)

The preview also indicates that Agent Dominique DiPierro will make her first appearance of the season. This is interesting, since we still don’t know how or why the FBI let Darlene go. Could she have struck a deal of some kind with Agent DiPierro? Or is Dom working some other Dark Army connection now?

Joanna Wellick also makes her first season 3 appearance here. Does this mean her reunion with Tyrell is imminent? Maybe. This season, it feels like anything could happen.
