We have some feelings on Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther. Both look incredible and they might just be some of Marvel’s best work
Thor: Ragnarok is just a few weeks away, and Black Panther is closer than you think. We are incredibly excited for both. And for completely different reasons. So let’s start chronologically.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on Nov. 3 and looks to be embracing the weirdness of the God of Thunder. That would get MCU fans excited, especially after his last outing fell a little flat. The one thing that did work for The Dark World was the humor sprinkled throughout.

And Chris Hemsworth can certainly do humor. Played up against Mark Ruffalo’s timid straight man Bruce Banner and set in a cosmic world? We want all of it. This isn’t even bringing Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster into the picture (since, you know, he’ll be playing himself, just in a fancy getup). Or Cate Blanchett’s Hela, who looks to chew the scenery whenever she’s on camera.
Or Tom Hiddleston’s Loki (my personal favorite), who is already having war flashbacks about his last Hulk encounter. His dry humor in the last one worked so well.
Throw in Anthony Hopkins’ Odin and Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and you’ve got yourself a stew going. Even if we have seen very little of these last two in any sort of teasers, trailers, or photos.

So then where do I even begin on Black Panther? The teaser trailer came out back in the summer and everyone collectively lost it. Now that the first official trailer premiered, we have even more feelings.
Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa looks ready and willing to become the rightful king of his country. And seriously, every look at Wakanda has us salivating. The technology, the cityscape, the crazy visions, the female warriors… Michael B. Jordan’s character! Every single thing looks amazing.
Heck, even seeing Andy Serkis actually being in something live-action and not a CGI character is pretty damn sweet. And we can not forget that awesome secret sibling handshake T’Challa has with his sister, Shuri.
What can only make it better is if they keep it separate from the rest of the MCU. That is—don’t bring in any other superheroes. Keep it isolated and hidden from the rest, like Wakanda itself!
