What are the best TV shows to watch this Halloween?

As Halloween draws near, those of us who are too old for trick or treating are focusing their efforts instead on picking the best Halloween movie to watch. But what if the perfect thing to watch isn’t a movie?

TV Halloween specials are perfect for those of us who aren’t quite cut out for the full-blown gory movie but love the horrifying holiday regardless.

Whether shows are referencing the tropes of classic horror films, simply having a good old-fashioned Halloween party or even both, Halloween episodes are the perfect snack for a spooky evening.

No feature length commitment, just 20 to 40 minutes of pure eeriness to help us have a wail of a time.

There may be some glaring omissions on this list, such as The Simpsons’ endless “Treehouse of Horror” series, not to mention basically all of Stranger Things. 

But alas, there are so many fantastic Halloween episodes out there, we could only shine a pumpkin-shaped torchlight onto a few.
