We’ve got a blank space, baby and we’re going to write Taylor Swift’s name in ours for the song of the week.

“Blank Space,” a song that you can’t get out of your head and a song you can’t help but blast on your speaks with the windows down. It’s an instantaneous combustion of summer jams mixed with sassy attitude. Why not go grab a golf club and go crazy on someone’s car? No, we don’t recommend this even if Taylor Swift did it in the music video.

But why not have a little attitude for this Monday morning? “Blank Space” is the perfect track to kick off the week and is something we’ll be listening to on loop until the end of time or the end of the week, whichever comes first. Why do we love “Blank Space” so much? It’s sassy, contagious, and it proves that Swift is an expert and changing the narrative, while turning the media on its head. It’s a beautiful thing to watch and it’s super fun to jam to.

Not to mention, the track has had major success since its release back in 2014. The song reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart following “Shake It Off”. This success allowed Swift to become the first woman in the Hot 100’s 56-year history to succeed herself at the top of the charts. The track was also the second single on 1989 to hit No.1 on the Digital Songs chart and Swift’s ninth No.1 on the chart.

The music video has also had tons of success as it has become one of 16 videos on YouTube to reach over 2 billion views. It is the thirteenth most viewed video on YouTube of all time. It also has the third most views on YouTube from a female artist since her music video for “Shake It Off”. Having “Blank Space” go beyond 2 billion views marked Swift as the first artist in history to have two videos go beyond that amount of views. Can we talk about world domination?
