Archie Andrews really doesn’t like identity theft on Riverdale
Riverdale has some twists and turns but none more shocking than Archie Andrews and his sudden fear of identity theft. Or maybe it is just his dad’s wallet?
On Wednesday night’s Riverdale, Archie Andrews was obviously upset. And for good reason! If you don’t remember, Fred Andrews (Archie’s father) was shot at the end of season 1 while he and Archie were having breakfast at Pop’s Diner.
The beginning of season 2 finds us back in the thick of it while Archie is rushing Fred to the hospital. But there is a moment when Archie goes home with Veronica Lodge so he can shower that has a lot of fans talking.
One in particular pointed out that maybe Archie is just really interested in stopping identity theft.

For those who haven’t seen the episode, Archie and Veronica are going through Fred’s things from the hospital when they suddenly can’t find his wallet. Archie goes from ‘sleeping with Veronica in the shower’ to flipping out and crying about a wallet two seconds later.
Life in the balance
To be fair, his father’s life is in the balance. But it is kind of random that the wallet sets him off. According to Archie, his father’s whole life was in that wallet. Which makes you question what kind of information Fred Andrews just carried on his person at any given moment.
Later on, we realize that Archie’s real fear is that the man who shot his father will come back to finish the job. So he sits, at the ready, with a bat in case he tries to come to their home. Still though, it is strange that Archie’s man mode of attack is a) a bat and b) to just sit in his living room area.
It really reminds us that Archie is just a kid. None of these characters are adults, they’re just teenagers. So whether it was fear for his father’s credit report or something else, it is both sweet and entirely strange that Archie freaked out that much about a wallet.
