How to Get Away with Murder season 4: 3 questions for episode 3

What has How to Get Away with Murder put on our minds going into episode 3 of season 4 this week? More on Laurel, Annalise, and a few other characters.

How to Get Away with Murder‘s second episode of season 4 didn’t really drop any big, massive story updates, or at least not ones treated with massive musical cues or anything of the like. (We think there are a few things that are still interesting, of course.) Of course, that means we’re also looking to find out answers to these three questions.

What will a Michaela and Laurel partnership look like?

Over the past few seasons, we’re more accustomed to Michaela spending most of her time with Asher, but it seems like we might be talking about her more in relation to Laurel as season 4 wears on. How will the two of them work together? Michaela represents Laurel’s access to a lot of information about Jorge Castillo (also known as Laurel’s dad), so it’s not like Laurel can boss Michaela around too much, unless she wants to risk losing out.

How long will this last? Will it be something that only makes it through part of season 4, or just until Laurel doesn’t need the help anymore? One thing’s certain: This is a pair to watch.

Is Oliver’s company going to get off the ground?

Oliver handing out business cards in the bar was a bit of a blink-and-you’ll-miss it moment towards the end of last week’s episode. On the one hand, you have to give him credit for hustling for that money — it sounds like finances are starting to be a concern for both him and Connor to stay in their apartment.

But is it going to be something we just hear about offhandedly, or is it going to attract some attention from the powers that be? A new business is always a risky venture, and it’s even riskier considering Oliver’s connections, which he’s lamented before and will probably lament again.

What’s Asher’s path forward?

Asher’s faded into the background a bit so far in this season. We don’t know what his prospects are looking like after that altercation at a callback interview, and it could lead to some friction between him and Michaela. He seems fairly okay with the fact that his girlfriend is going full “beast mode” and he might not be, although he didn’t completely crash and burn, either, but things can change quickly. Is Asher doomed to play second fiddle to Michaela forever?

(And are we really going to be mad about it if that’s the case?)
