Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Where and how to buy tickets

Who will sell Star Wars: The Last Jedi tickets, and what kind of special events will have tickets available as well? Here’s a user’s guide.

According to Entertainment WeeklyStar Wars: The Last Jedi‘s trailer tomorrow will be accompanied by ticket sales — and if you want to score tickets for that first weekend, you might want to bookmark some of the sites below and have them open sometime around 9:30 p.m. ET and no later.

That’s because EW reports that the trailer will drop during Monday Night Football’s halftime section. The game itself starts at 8:30 p.m. ET according to the NFL’s official website. So, where should you go?

Fandango

It’s the old standard for picking up tickets online, and Fandango will gather up all the different theaters and ways you can see The Last Jedi in one place. But because of that, it might be the slowest of the sites. There are going to be a lot of people trying to get tickets from Fandango. If you choose to go this route, pre-load the page a little earlier and make your decision as to where, when, and how you plan to see the movie before sales go live. (The latter is pretty much good advice for any site.)

Fandango also has a page for a special “Opening Night Fan Event” on Dec. 14. Those could be the harder tickets to score, but there’s a promise of “collectible cards” and, perhaps more importantly, “exclusive content”.

AMC Theatres

AMC Theatres has a second event for fans on Dec. 14 — seeing The Force Awakens right before The Last Jedi. Additionally, its IMAX showings on Sundays come with free posters. It also lists the same “Opening Night Fan Event” and promises free popcorn on top of the content and cards.

Finally, AMC Theatres still confirms that the movie is two and a half hours.

Cinemark

Cinemark has nothing different on offer other than the “Opening Night Fan Event” and the Force AwakensLast Jedi pairing, but it does confirm that the latter is “limited.”

Regal Cinemas

Regal does not list any special events on its main landing page for The Last Jedi, but it seems likely that the chain will pick up the same special showings.

IMAX

If you already know that you want to go IMAX, the page there has a few more details. First, certain states have the opportunity to see the movie in 70mm, picking up a listing from Fandango. Second, it notes that Regal Cinemas will give out “a new collectible ticket” for IMAX showings on Saturdays, but unlike AMC, which has four Sundays of collectibles, Regal will only have three weekends.

Finally, the two-movie event is just on Dec. 14.

It also has a graphic that has its last tip as “May the Force be with you,” which is … about the best advice there can be.
