Justice League Comic-Con trailer: 5 coolest moments
By Buckie Wells
The new Justice League trailer emphasizes teamwork and the importance of each member’s role in saving the world, so here are 5 moments that really stand out.
Thanks to Joss Whedon, we’ll probably be seeing a lighter side of the Justice League next month. But in a world filled with prototype Mercedes and Amazons, the success of the film is going to be based on the cohesiveness of the overall storytelling. And in the same vein, the new Justice League trailer emphasizes that we’re all stronger together than apart and that each member of the League is important … including Superman, who opens the trailer as part of Lois Lane’s dream sequence.
So let’s check out the 5 coolest moments below, starting with,
Henry Cavill’s amazing profile

Yes, yes, we all knew he was coming back in some capacity. And no, he’s not wearing the black suit or sporting any sort of mullet (that we know of yet), but it’s really nice to see Henry Cavill in motion again as Clark Kent. Some people don’t like his portrayal of the character, but I’m a big Cavill fan in general, so I got emotional right off the bat.
And I mean, just look at him. What a good-looking dude.
Nobody’s trying to hide that Wonder Woman is the best

Even though this shot is clearly digital and she’s standing kind of awkwardly, it’s still a very powerful image. In a trailer filled with cool moments, let’s just be real: almost all those moments belong to Gal Gadot / Wonder Woman. And they should, because she has the most successful film in the DCEU. More importantly, she looks amazing whether she’s kicking a sword back into her hand, fighting Steppenwolf one-on-one, or smiling at her comrades.
You just can’t go wrong with Wonder Woman now.
Every time Aquaman goes trident fishing
Jason Momoa and Ray Fisher as Aquaman / Arthur Curry and Victor Stone / Cyborg in Justice League (2017). Image courtesy of Warner Bros.
Does Cyborg’s suit look good? No. Not at all. Does Aquaman’s? Sort of. But truth be told, I don’t really care when I see them together. What I’m now referring to as “Aquaborg,” I love the idea of these guys being bros. I mean, everyone loves Flash and stuff, but Aquaman has been the butt of the joke for a while. And apart from Teen Titans, Cyborg isn’t that high on anyone’s list either.
Not to mention, Cyborg literally threw Aquaman through the air to spear a parademon in mid-air and nail him to the nearest building. Like, just imagine him playing a game of darts with aim like that.
Speed in motion
Ezra Miller as The Flash/ Barry Allen in Justice League (2017). Image courtesy of Warner Bros.
This was a really cool shot because it really shows us Barry Allen in motion as the Flash. The shot starts in the center of the frame where Wonder Woman is standing. As he comes closer, the Flash leaves a trail of lightning behind him crackling in the air. Based on how quickly light travels etc, etc, I’m sure it doesn’t stay in the air that long (confirmed by previous trailers), but it’s really incredible to see. Plus, it’s kind of blue, which looks cool against the red.
One thing you can’t fault Zack Snyder for is style, so I give a lot of props for this concept, whether we’ve seen it in various capacities before or not.
One of the most obvious jokes you can make
Barry Allen, Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck as Barry Allen / The Flash, Diana Prince / Wonder Woman and Bruce Wayne / Batman, respectively, in Justice League (2017). Image courtesy of Warner Bros.
This is pretty fan-service-y, but beautiful nonetheless. Of course, we see a chubby batsignal in the air and everyone looks at it in unison. As an audience member, this camera angle almost makes you feel like you’re standing just a little behind them and looking at it, too. Followed by the way Barry Allen excitedly yells out to Bruce Wayne — and Bruce Wayne just takes it — is so sweet. Like, Barry is all of us in that moment. And Bruce’s humility is exactly why the character endures for so long and why I enjoy Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the character.
