Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s latest merchandise is a fresh Funko
Funko has not yet given up on Star Wars: The Last Jedi, announcing a rather suggestive new Funko Pop! figure to arrive after the film’s release.
If you thought that Funko was only going to release the admittedly-pretty-big line it put together for Force Friday II when it comes to Star Wars: The Last Jedi … think again. Instead, the company announced today that another new Pop! figure is on the way for fans to try and add to their collections.
It’s a new version of Rose Tirico, one of the new characters that we’ll meet in The Last Jedi, and the announcement explicitly says she’s “in disguise.”
What’s possibly more interesting is that this new item will not actually coincide with the film’s release. Instead, you won’t be able to find this Rose until January.
It’s not really surprising that Rose would get a First Order-ified version. As we discussed looking at Finn’s Pop!, he’s got the same insignia on his cap. This instead represents confirmation that Finn won’t be alone when he goes in for … whatever his mission is. Presumably he’ll be sneakier this time around.
Oddly, though, Rose and Finn have different colors of uniform on in their separate figures. She’s clad in blue, while he’s more in a charcoal color palette. Presumably that has something to do with what they’ll be posing as. In July, we learned that Rose is in “maintenance” for the Resistance. It’s likely she’ll have to use her technical knowhow on this mission, too, so the Resistance might have tried to place her where she’s most likely to fit in easily.
Additionally, it’s telling that Rose gets a second figure. It could be that Lucasfilm expects her to become more popular as fans get to know her … okay, and this is a good way to pick up some extra cash, too.

The kicker is that this new Rose is part of what the company calls its “Specialty Series,” which means that not every store will sell the figure.
