In Rolling Stone’s new cover story, Kesha praises her fellow chart-topper Taylor Swift and calls her a sweetheart.
“She’s very very sweet. Very, very genuine, extremely generous, and picks up the phone every time I call her,” Kesha says of Swift in her interview with Rolling Stone. “My mom doesn’t even always pick up the phone”. Well, there you have it. We’re already more in love with this friendship than we were before.
Although Kesha speaks about Swift, she stops short of mentioning her legal battle with Dr. Luke and Swift’s ‘controversies’,’ stating that she wasn’t aware of the singer’s recent drama. “I’m not really up on my pop culture,” she states. “Should I know something about it? I live in my record player.”
The relationship between Kesha and Swift go way back to February of 2016 when Swift gave Kesha $250,000 during her legal battle with Dr. Luke. Since then, the two have been very open about their support to one another. Kesha even went public to show Swift her support during her winning trial between her and a former radio DJ who groped her. It’s empowering to see two strong women and talented artists support each other the way these two do. It’s a lesson for all of us.
But don’t expect to learn more about Kesha’s legal battle in the interview as she opted not to speak about it and told the publication that there is much that she can’t talk about. But you’ll learn more about where she is right now and the journey it took her to create her newest album Rainbow.
