To commemorate the 300th episode of Grey’s Anatomy, ABC is putting together a six-episode web series for fans called Grey’s Anatomy: Post-Op.
When ABC knows they have some primo properties on their hands, they try to flaunt it as much as possible. In fact, this is true of anywhere network or studio. Heck, Disney puts together an entire expo just to remind everyone how full of win they are.
For ABC, or Shonda Rhimes specifically, they know fans really love shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, and they really do a lot to give some of that love back. In addition to tweeting live every week, both shows have branched out with web series. The Darby Stanchfield-led series for Scandal focused on the gladiators, but the new Grey’s Anatomy series is a little more special. Why? Because each episode will see cast and crew reflect on the biggest moments of the past 13 seasons as it leads to the big 300th episode on Nov. 9. Plus, we’ll also get exclusive looks at upcoming episodes.

There’s nothing I love more than going behind-the-scenes of my favorite show. Like, I get upset by how short the Shondaland: Revealed podcasts are. I know Betsy Beers happens to be a very busy lady, but if she wanted to drop the executive producer shtick and become a full-time podcaster, I wouldn’t be upset. A little bit of insight goes a long way, that’s all I’m saying.

While I’m certainly excited for the series, see if I don’t become a huge emotional wreck by the time we get to the 300th episode.
The first episode of Post-Op airs ahead of Grey’s Anatomy‘s new episode, “Go Big or Go Home,” this Wednesday, Oct. 4 on the official ABC website.
