The fictional fast-food chain often featured in Arrow and The Flash, Big Belly Burger, promises to open its door to Supergirl in National City next.
There are like a zillion fictional fast-food chains throughout pop culture, and just about all of them have to do with burgers. You never hear about a fast-food shrimp shop or anything like that.
In the Arrowverse, the fictional fast-food frequented by Barry Allen most is Big Belly Burger. Along with Star City, we also know there’s one located in Central City, where Oliver Queen lives. But so far, Earth-38, where Supergirl lives, is lacking. Considering how often we’ve seen Kara eat and how pointed she is about calorie intake, it’s too bad she can’t enjoy the “super quality” and “value of service” that Big Belly Burger boasts.
However, thanks to a new ad released by The CW, it looks like it’s only a matter of time before we see Supergirl discover her new favorite food.
Check it out:
So far, we know Supergirl really loves Noonan’s, pizza and potstickers. But if National City gets a Big Belly Burger, we might see her come up with a new favorite … not including kale, of course.
The ad spends a majority of its time interspersing old scenes from both Arrow and The Flash. But it’s real purpose, besides showing off mouth-watering burgers akin to the Krusty Krab, serves to hype everyone for the new season of Supergirl.
After the typical summer-long hiatus, Supergirl will be the first show to kick off the Arrowverse’s return. This season, The CW promises that the crossovers will be much better (and more inclusive) than the previous season as they make a stronger effort to tie the shows together.

While I hold a lot for the concern over the upcoming crossover, this ad reminds me how funny and whimsy the Arrowverse can be.
Supergirl returns on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. ET.
