James Potter and Sirius Black: What could have been

We talk about the Golden Trio as friendship goals but what if we had seen more of the friendship between Sirius Black and James Potter?

Everyone wishes they had friends like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley but what about Sirius Black? To me, the friendship that almost meant more than the Golden Trio might have been the Marauders.

Not that there is anything wrong with the Golden Trio. On the contrary, they’re perfect. But let’s look at the Marauders for a second. Or, more specifically, James and Sirius. Two friends who would do anything for one another until death. That’s something really special.

We haven’t even seen any indication that these two even fought like Ron and Harry tend to. They were just there for each other and even when everyone thought Sirius had betrayed James, Sirius went crazy in Azkaban not because he was wrongfully imprisoned but rather because his best friend was dead.

How weirdly touching right? When he got out of Azkaban his goals were to look out for his godson (the son of his best friend mind you) and avenge his friend’s death. Not get retribution for being in jail (which he would have gotten by default) but to defend his friends and everything that happened to them at the hands of Peter Pettigrew.

I just think that the bond that James Potter and Sirius Black share is something magical. The two were always there for each other and even in the after life, they’re there for Harry because that’s what the two of them had always done for one another.

Next: Hermione Granger, muggle, witch, and doctor or detective?
