Harry Styles recently performed a cover of Little Big Town’s song “Girl Crush” and quickly, rumors began swirling which suggested the former One Direction singer may have been using the song to take aim at his past relationship with Taylor Swift.

So, was Styles truly trying to “shade” his former flame?

After a Hollywood Life report shared a headline in which it was alleged that Style’s performance in Swift’s Nashville hometown was his effort to diss his singer ex, Gossip Cop shared an additional report, claiming the outlet’s suggestion was completely bogus.

While Swift and Style did have a short-lived romance with one another in 2013, there doesn’t appear to be any blood between them now, four years later, and when it comes to his September 25 concert in Nashville, there’s no real reason to believe he was using Little Big Town to get back at her.

Taylor Swift wrote a song for Little Big Town

Before announcing her sixth studio album, Reputation, Swift teamed up with Little Big Town and penned their hit track “Better Man.” However, Style using a song from the band who once worked with Styles doesn’t mean that he was using “Girl Crush” by any means.

As Gossip Cop explained, Styles’ decision to cover a Little Big Town song had nothing to do with his former girlfriend.

Taylor Swift is now dating Joe Alwyn

Years after her brief romance with Styles, Swift began spending time with actor Alwyn and the couple have been seemingly going strong ever since.
